Take care of your well-being and self-esteem

Building habits related to taking care of ourselves positively affects our sense of empowerment and self-determination, which in turn translates into our motivation, leading to a real impact of our decisions on the desired changes.

15 minutes to yourself each day? It’s possible!

We don’t need to make overly far-reaching, too general assumptions about our plans and intentions. What is important is to envision them and implement them as smaller steps. With their help, we will be able to see our actions and the results we achieve.

A very important aspect of our efforts will be to recognize and appreciate even the smallest actions leading to the improvement of our physical and mental well-being. Even a short time devoted to a favorite activity brings joy and comfort in taking care of your own needs. How to do it?

  • Start with 15 minutes each day, think about what can make you happy, and eventually build positive habits that will make you feel better and better about your relationship with yourself.
  • Take care of a moment where it’s just you and ask yourself what you need in this very moment, what do you feel like doing, what do you need?
  • Make a list of things that are important to you and that you would like to accomplish. Start with those needs that are more accessible for you at this point in time. Thanks to this you will be able to build motivation in fulfilling the next ones, for which at the moment you may lack enthusiasm, willingness, perseverance, self-confidence.
  • Take care of the space around you, while listening to the music you like. Think about the items in your environment that put you in a good mood.
  • Spare a moment to read and find yourself in “another world”, away from the cares, worries and difficulties of everyday life.
  • Prepare your favourite beverage and enjoy its flavour, celebrating each sip and moment.
  • Move in your mind to a place where you feel safe, peaceful, where you are the only one, or where you are surrounded by people who are good to you and treat you with respect and warmth.

Create a notebook in which you write your reflections and emotions, everything that made you happy and satisfied and that you accomplished each day. Enjoy the little things – they are, after all, what make up the greater whole, our everyday life. Pay special attention to your start to the day. Make sure to treat yourself well from the morning onwards by getting up early enough to start your day without too much of a rush. Remember that the basis is a healthy sleep, because everything starts from it.
